Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of the Fencepost platform and services operated by ScaleRight Ltd. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Permitted Use
Fencepost is designed for legitimate AI cost control, budget enforcement, and usage monitoring. You may use the service to:
- Monitor and control spending on AI/LLM API calls
- Set budget caps and receive alerts
- Track usage across agents and models
- Proxy AI API calls through the Fencepost sidecar for cost tracking
- Generate audit trails and compliance reports
2. Prohibited Use
You must not use Fencepost to:
- Illegal activities: Any activity that violates applicable law, including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, or terrorism financing
- Abuse of AI systems: Generating harmful, abusive, or illegal content through proxied AI calls
- Circumvention: Attempting to bypass budget controls, license restrictions, or rate limits
- Reverse engineering: Decompiling, disassembling, or reverse engineering the Fencepost Pro software (Lifetime Deal), except as permitted by applicable law
- Resale without authorisation: Reselling access to your Fencepost instance to third parties without our written consent
- Network abuse: Using the service for DDoS attacks, port scanning, spam, or other network abuse
- Credential sharing: Sharing your API keys, install tokens, or license keys with unauthorised parties
- Excessive load: Generating unreasonable load on the infrastructure beyond normal usage patterns (e.g., API call volumes exceeding 10,000 requests per minute per instance)
3. Resource Limits

4. API Key Security
Under the BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model:
- You are solely responsible for the security of your LLM API keys
- API keys are stored only on your dedicated VPS (managed) or your own infrastructure (LTD)
- ScaleRight does not have access to your API keys
- If you suspect key compromise, rotate your keys immediately with your LLM provider
5. Monitoring
We monitor service health and infrastructure metrics. We do not monitor the content of your AI API calls. Monitoring includes:
- Server health (CPU, memory, disk)
- API response times and error rates
- Aggregate usage volumes (not content)
6. Enforcement
If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may:
- Issue a warning with a remediation deadline
- Temporarily suspend your service
- Permanently terminate your account
For severe violations (illegal activity, security threats), we may suspend immediately without prior notice.
7. Reporting Violations
To report a violation of this AUP, contact abuse@scaleright.ai.
8. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email at least 30 days before taking effect.
